Stamped Concrete in Summertown & Southern Middle Tennessee

Stamped concrete uses textured mats pressed into freshly poured concrete to create patterns that replicate natural stone, brick, slate, flagstone, and even wood plank. When done well — with the right color, release agent, and sealer — stamped concrete is difficult to distinguish from the real material. And it costs a fraction of what natural stone or brick pavers would run for the same area.

The process requires timing and experience. After the concrete is poured and screeded, integral color is broadcast across the surface, followed by a powder or liquid release agent that prevents the stamps from sticking. The stamps must be placed and pressed at exactly the right time — when the concrete is firm enough to hold the impression but soft enough to take the full texture depth. Press too early and the pattern smears; too late and you get shallow, undefined texture. This is where 30 years of experience matters.

We offer a full range of stamp patterns — ashlar slate, random stone, herringbone brick, cobblestone, wood plank, and more. Color options include integral color (mixed into the concrete), color hardener (broadcast on the surface for deeper color), and accent release colors that settle into the pattern joints to create realistic depth and variation. We'll show you samples and combinations so you can see what the finished product will look like before we pour.

Stamped concrete does require more maintenance than plain concrete. The sealer needs to be reapplied every 2–3 years to maintain the color vibrancy and protect the surface from UV fade and wear. Without resealing, the color gradually dulls and the surface becomes more susceptible to scaling in freeze-thaw conditions. We provide detailed maintenance instructions and can schedule resealing for our customers.
